October - Mental Health Month

October marks Mental Health Month, and in 2023, the theme is 'We all have a role to play.' This year's theme encourages each of us to champion activities and ideas that can positively impact our lives and the lives of those around us.

Mental Health Month is a prompt for everyone to reflect on their mental well-being, whether or not they have a personal experience with mental illness. It underscores the significance of good mental health in our daily lives and promotes a culture of seeking help when needed.

What role will you embrace?

·   You could become a community champion, connect your friends, family and neighbours to vital mental health services.

·   Be an advocate in your workplace by motivating your workmates to prioritise their mental health and engage with support.

·   Will you shine as a school ambassador, and think about how to improve mental health awareness among our youth, their teachers, and staff.

·   Become a compassionate ally, offer a listening ear and support to those facing difficult times or a mental health challenges.

·   Take charge of your own well-being, dedicate some time this month to explore your mental health and ways to sustain your inner health all year-round.

During Mental Health Month there are lots of opportunities to engage in conversations about general mental health, dispel myths, address mental health challenges, and share strategies for supporting both ourselves and those around us through times of mental ill-health.
