Bulletin April 1

[ please share this bulletin with your friends and connections to the Wardell Community ]

Hi friends,

Wardell Flood Recovery Event - April 9

We are once again sorry to need to postpone the Wardell Flood Recovery Event.

Following this week of renewed emergency, flood threat and in respect for an important funeral in the community, we have postponed our street party until Saturday, April 9.

Truly hope you can all make it along to help us celebrate, commiserate and help us bring the town of Wardell back home and together again.

We will have the same great music, the same great food, an open mic session and of course a great opportunity to connect with friends, neighbours, our amazing supporters, volunteers and the community who have helped us on the journey to recovery.

See you there !!  Event details : https://www.facebook.com/events/368308185159363

Wellbeing and Mental Health Support

There is a wide range of mental health and wellbeing services available that we can help you access or provide resources for.

We understand it is often the most difficult thing to accept and to help others to realise that accepting help can be transformative in this critical time of need.

We are all suffering from enduring stress, sleeplessness, overwhelm, anxiety and confusion which can cloud our judgements, decision making abilities and have a big impact on our health both now and into the future.

If you or someone you know would like a casual chat, or a home visit from one of our amazing wellbeing support team members for a check-in, advice or links to other services please just let us know.  You can speak directly with any of the WardellCORE supervisors or be referred to one of our professional supporters.

WardellCORE is currently able to offer home visits throughout the community and want to help you to create space, clarity and calmness to support you on your recovery journey.

There are a number of dedicated practitioners and support programs for rural landholders and the farming community that we can refer you to discreetly and in your own time.

Please reach out, we are all in this together.

Heike and Reto : Heikes Swiss Gourmet Food

On behalf of the Wardell community, we would like to offer our most sincere and heartfelt appreciation to the amazing duo Heike and Reto who have kept our spirits high and our bellies full these last 4 weeks. These two have worked tirelessly to provide such a wonderful and joyful service to our community, a daily feast and offering of Heikes famous pies, cakes and sweets.

Over the next few weeks, we will be working with them to move to a more sustainable model that will ensure the community can continue to access affordable food through this time of need, while also starting to recoup on costs of production and return to a viable business. We hope to have your feedback and continued support.

Local Business News

A big hoorah for a number of our local businesses who have bounced back and are now once again servicing our community and we wish them all well through what will remain a difficult trading period through the months ahead.  Drop into town and show your support.
